This is the first single-estate distillery in Scotland. Founded by three brothers in 2013, Arbikie Highland Estate Distillery is a young distillery set up on a decidedly old hundred-year-old family farm in the Scottish Highlands. Using sustainable methods on traditional copper pot stills, Arbikie distills whisky, gins and vodkas from some of the most unusual ingredients.
The Arbikie Highland Rye is the first rye Scotch made for nearly 200 years - distilled from a mash of rye, wheat and malted barley. This expression was matured in virgin American oak casks, giving it a full body of vanilla and spice. The year 1794 is a reference to the first documentation of a distillery on Arbikie Estate according to historical records.
Nose: Damson jam, toasted cedar, black pepper, fudge, and cinnamon.
Taste: Nutmeg, biscuit dough, honeyed cereal, jammy sultanas, liquorice.
Finish: Chocolate sponge cake, clove, candied ginger.
