Flavour Profile: Rich and Round
If you’ve heard about Chichibu, you know the hype is real. Bottles don’t come easy, but we gotchu fam. This is your chance to try one without breaking the bank.
A mix of Chichibu and Hanyu whiskies, the Double Distilleries expression is a symphony of a blend. The nose starts off clean as a whistle, sweet yet floral, reminding us of lavender earl grey cookies. Sandalwood muskiness and fruitiness appears on both the nose and the palate. The light bodied palate has tingling spiciness coupled with fresh cut apples, apricots and peaches. The finish is has a touch of tannin much like graded Ceylon black tea, but the honeyed sweetness carries through with just a dusting of nutmeg and icing sugar. A long warm finish feels like a hug from an old friend.
