Funk here doesn't refer to the genre of music from New Orleans. It's that memorable ripe fruit flavour you see in Jamaican rums. This continentally-aged Monymusk is a piece of cake. Gentle introduction to Jamaican funk, fruitiness and spice at comfortable intensity and complexity. Scotch drinkers who have not yet tried aged rums would really enjoy this.
Our Tasting Notes:
Nose: Tropical Fruit Basket, Overripe Bananas, Grilled Pineapples, Mangosteens and Duku-langsat. Touch of Solvent and Light Liquorice.
Palate: Medium bodied- weightier than Scotch, but lighter than tropically-aged rums. Refined but intense flavours. Passionfruit, Bundaberg Root Beer, Salted Caramel, Vanilla, Maltose Candy, Mild Savouriness.
Finish: Long, Clean, Honeyed. Mild Oakiness with Hawthorn Candy.
