Barrel Aged Sour Ale with Blueberry & Acai | ABV 7.5%
A Barrel Aged Sour in a can???? Had a little fizzle foam pop at the top but it didn't spill over. Okay but you don't get the funky fun in this so you're safe. Not very fruity either, but you get a lot of acai in this. Pours very thin, which is quite surprising.
Smokey and oaky aromas (the barrel aged highlight) but it doesn't appear in the taste profile. I get blueberry skin, fresh basil, red grapes, blackcurrants and blended acai throughout. When it warms up, you get faint oak wood, not that much but it rounds off then.
I'll compare this to the Duchesse Chocolate Cherry, the tartness/oak but not the sweetness. Good to share this with friends, or else it becomes a bit much for my liking in one seating. $14.50 for a 7.5% is pretty worth it!
