Spottie Ottie Dopaliscious, Sour IPA, Pomona Island

Spottie Ottie Dopaliscious | Pomona Island
Sour DIPA | ABV 8.0%

What a name, what a colour, what a pour, what a beer! It's like the trending cherry juice for sleep time - tart and berrylicious in a sour double IPA. Come to think of it, I've never had a sour DIPA or TIPA, only a single IPA but it's not as strong as I thought it was going to be. This has a deep grape wine hue for its body, and a top magenta rim/head.

Similar characteristics to the previous Pomona Island sour IPA before this, it has a herbal and grassy creaminess to the flavour profile but with a berry burst instead. Has a subtle hoppy aroma but doesn't follow through taste-wise.

Think, ribena and plum/blackcurrant juice with a splash of roasted oolong tea that gives it a clean yet toasty finish. Maybe that's the ingredient giving the grassy and floral element in this too, aside from Simcoe hops.

Featured hops: Simcoe 🤌🏻
