TIMES 8 Bourbon Barrel Aged, Imperial Stout, LERVIG

Recommended to me by @thelordoflambic as a must try offering from Norway's very own LERVIG. My craving for small stout cans is once again satiated. The can was served to me ice cold yet the initial smell was rich with classic bourbon barrels and vanilla sweetness. As it warms, chocolately goodness follows, almost like a brownie or even a fondue vibe. Also a mild dark fruits? Poured thin but looks were slightly deceiving and the stout has a mild viscosity to it, but definitely nothing out of the world in this aspect. It is however, mildly syrupy and oily. Undoubtedly a pastry stout; chocolatey and sweet - butterscotch, maple or vanilla sugar, I can't really tell but the long list of adjuncts in this definitely contributed to a balanced sweetness. No coconuts tasted as usual but as it warms, caramel-y or butterscotch-y notes become a little more prominent. Bourbon barrels are present throughout the entire experience. Finish is moderate with chocolate and roasted malts being the main flavour that lingers. Definitely reminiscent of other lervig stouts, not the fullest in mouthfeel but packs a decent punch! Last sip from the can gave a little nuttiness.

First time having a drink solo in Europe! @apollonplatebar is a whole ass vibe with vinyl and good music alongside their incredible list of taps and bottles! Also the only reason I could type so much as I am having some sweet sweet alone time.

Halfway through typing this I wondered what hit so hard and realised this was an ass kicking 16%. Definitely no signs of this moderately anywhere. Also this has a best before date of 19/08/30 bruh.
