Xyauyù Barrel Riserva 2016, Barleywine, Birrificio Agricolo Baladin

Ok literally holy moly. Stumbled upon this gem after my visit to Vatican City and its liquid gold. Deep dark ruby barleywine poured from a cute small cask. Rum and raisins and dried dark fruits envelops your nose and palate - almost utopia like but slightly less pronounced. Mouthfeel is extremely syruppy and thick, with zero carbonation whatsoever. Finishes incredibly balanced with dry tannins alongside the lingering, sweet rum and raisin ice cream. You definitely taste a slight booziness in this one.

Such a beautiful barleywine man. Italy's utopia. Please try this if you can, closest you will get to utopia without the price tag!!
