Aaaaand we have another Ardbeg! But we feel we're going to love this one because it's Smoketrails - a sexy French Côte Rôtie wine cask! 

Smoketrails is Ardbeg's Traveller's Exclusive to welcome the us back to a world of travel through adventures from one cask to the next - it's an annual release that was inaugurated in 2022 with its debut Manzanilla Sherry casks from Spain's Atlantic Coast, specifically the Sanlúcar de Barrameda - and boy was that a fantastic expression (we reviewed it here!).

So just for that, we'll embrace one more Ardbeg new release. They're really working the marketing team to the bone aren't they?!

The second edition of Ardbeg's Smoketrails sees the use of French Côte Rôtie wine casks and ex-Bourbon casks that together gives "Punchy peat. Grilled pepper. Smoked fruit."

Official Tasting Notes

In this full bodied, punchy spirit, grilled artichoke and peppers peer over the horizon while warm notes of camphor fade into cooling menthol.

Subtle smoked cranberry and tar fly high above before rich dark chocolate loops-the-loop into soft fondant.

The new Ardbeg Smoketrails Cote Rotie Traveller's Exclusive is bottled at 46% ABV.
