Breaking News! A new element has been discovered - it's the Laphroaig L3.0!

Okay putting aside the nerd opening, it appears that we're about to see a third edition to Laphroaig's Elements series.

As Islay giant Laphroaig puts it, "Elements is the series of experimental whiskies that redefine what Laphroaig can be. Our third Elements edition explores the effects of raised kiln temperatures on our floor malt, unleashing a deeper, bolder twist on our signature style."

The result? 

"Using malt heated to our highest-ever level after a blazing peat fire in our kiln, Elements 3.0 is a non-chill filtered, cask-strength Islay single malt where our signature burst of peat smoke is amplified with charcoal and burnt caramel notes."

This new edition comes bottled at Cask Strength, here at a neat 59.6% ABV (119.2 Proof).

We last checked in with Laphroaig's L1.0 and L2.0 and were charmed by both of them, so safe to say we'll be looking out for L3.0.
