Bourbon staple Four Roses seems to be ready to debut two new mashbill recipes - a High Rye and a High Corn!
The Lawrenceburg, Kentucky distillery that has been around since 1888, is famous for its 10 recipes, which it celebrated in June 2023 its 135th anniversary with a Ten Recipe tasting set.

Its 10 recipes come from various combinations of 2 mashbills and 5 types of yeast, which are then all matured and distilled the same. Each recipe has been given a four-letter acronym that denotes the associated flavour profile of that recipe.
But now it seems that we'll be getting 2 additional mashbills:
- High Rye: 52% Corn, 43% Rye, 5% Barley
- High Corn: 85% Corn, 10% Rye, 5% Barley
These will be in addition to the 2 existing mashbills:
- B Recipe: 60% Corn, 35% Rye, 5% Barley
- E Recipe: 75% Corn, 20% Rye, 5% Barley
This would mean that assuming all else equal, Four Roses will now have a total of 20 recipes!
