Jamaica's Monymusk is getting ready to release what looks to be its first expression sporting a vintage.
The rum distillery established all the way back in 1808, appears to have a 2007 MSR mark 17 Year Old expression that will be released at 55.1% ABV.
The expression was already teased at the 2024 Rum Show earlier in the year.
The back label reads:
"MSR 2007 is a bold and authentic column still mark uniquely distilled from the lower plates boasting smooth, banana and tropical-fruit aromas, setting itself apart from all other column-still rums. Aged to perfection at the home of Monymusk Plantation Rums, the 17-Years-matured-in-oak casks unveil the beautiful, deep, golden-brown hue, perfectly complemented with the uniqueness of banana notes and layers of tropically-aged aromas. It is elegantly balanced with notes of chocolate, vanilla, and rich, Caribbean spices, giving an elevated smoothness on the palate.
Each bottle carries a legacy of the dedication to craftsmanship of the rum. Experience the distinctiveness of MSR 2007 that whispers tales of tradition and art synchronizing with mastery."
A total of 1,250 bottles appears to be the outturn for Batch 1.
