Hot off the inaugural release of Laphroaig's new Strong Characters series celebrating pivotal characters in the Laphroaig story, we're now getting a glimpse of the second release to come!

The first expression featured a 33 Year Old expression that celebrated Donald Johnston, one of the Islay distillery's founders, and now we're seeing a second release in commemoration of Dugald Johnston, the son and heir to Donald Johnston, which will come in the form of a 35 Year Old expression.

Dugald Johnston nevertheless would unfortunately not helm the distillery for long, as he died in 1877, at just 41 years old, staying on up till that point as the distiller for Laphroaig Distillery. Dugald had taken up the position in 1857, after his father Donald Johnston had departed in 1847.

The new Laphroaig Strong Characters Dugald Johnston 35 Year Old is bottled at 43.8% ABV.
