Mijenta Tequila Unveils World's First Tequila Made With Agaves From All Five Tequila-Producing States

Mijenta is adding a new limited-edition expression to its Maestra Selection series: the world's first tequila thats made from a blend of agaves from all five of Mexico's legally recognized tequila-producing states.
The agaves used in this expression were sourced from a single estate in each of the five territories, distilled separately and later blended into one. They are then packaged in a five-sided bottle said to pay homage to its diverse origins.
At present, the vast majority (over 95%) of the world's tequila comes from Jalisco, the spirit's birthplace in the 16th century. The state's distinctive iron-rich highlands and volcanic lowlands are often seen as the source of tequila's classic flavor, but the Tequila Regulatory Council also recognizes four other states under the denomination of origin: Michoacán, Tamaulipas, Nayarit, and Guanajuato.
Mijenta Maestra Selection No.2 aims to highlight the differences in soil, climate and elevation that distinguish Blue Weber agave across the fields of Mexico.
Bottled at 40% ABV, the limited edition is now available online with a MSRP of USD$75.
