St Remy Brandy To Release First Ever Grand Blend Composed Of Select Small Batches Each Telling Its Story
France's largest brandy producer St Remy has created a first ever limited edition Grand Blend, which combines together five parcels of small-batch brandies hand selected by Master Blender Cecile Roudaut.
The concept behind the Grand Blend is for each component to tell a story, and to come together cohesively, combining different regions, grape varieties, distillation methods and maturation journeys.
The five components are as follows:
Lot No. 1 'Abundant' - Uniting diverse grape varietals across a range of French vineyards.
Lot No. 2 'Delicate' - Demonstrates the sweetness of Loire Valley's famed Chenin.
Lot No. 3 'Powerful' - Combines fruitiness of Ugni Blanc, Colombard and Baco Blanc grapes.
Lot No. 4 'Exuberant' - Made purely of Colombard from distinct French terroirs.
Lot No. 5 'Incandescent' - Showcasing a combination of Gascon Ugni Blanc and Baco Blanc grape varieties.
The final blend is 25% pot still distilled, which is said to further give the brandy a more rich and complex character. It is said to offer up "aromas of prune and candied fruits with a bold and gourmet flavour".
The St Remy Grand Blend is bottled at 43% ABV, is non chill filtered, and has no colouring.
Only 8,624 bottles of the St Remy Grand Blend has been made, issued with an RRP of US$64.
