Suntory has inaugurated its first ever shop-in-shop travel retail boutique, located in Singapore's Changi Airport Terminal 3's Lotte duty Free.

But, let's face it, you're not here for that!

You're here for this insane looking new set of Suntory whiskies - that's the Kogei Collection 2024 Japanese Kimono Edition, which was just unveiled at the new Suntory boutique in Singapore by Suntory's Fifth Generation Chief Blender Shinji Fukuyo.

"Kogei" translates to "traditional Japanese craftsmanship" and thus sees Suntory collaborate with Japanese traditional crafts artisans in creating the new set of whiskies - a Yamazaki and a Hakushu, both featuring Peated Malt and the use of Spanish Oak.

The 2024 Kogei Collection features a collaboration with Kyoto's Kyo-Yuzen Kimono House, Chiso, which is highly regarded for creating fine Japanese kimonos since 1555. Chiso's patternmakers have been enlisted to apply the traditional method of Bokashi-zome (or gradation dyeing) to depict the story of Yamazaki and Hakushu whisky, which is then applied onto washi paper that forms the whisky bottles' labels and packaging box.

The Yamazaki Peated Malt Spanish Oak features a depiction of the serenity of three merging rivers around the distillery that evoke a sense of calm, with gold stamps adding elegance and is reminiscent of drifting clouds.

The Hakushu Peated Malt Spanish Oak features a verdant mountainside range that mirrors the lush Japanese Southern Alps that surround the distillery, as well as silver stamps that evoke forest clouds and threads reminiscent of kimonos.

The Yamazaki Peated Malt Spanish Oak and Hakushu Peated Malt Spanish Oak will be launched across select airports including Singapore's Changi Airport from 1st April 2024.

Both expressions are bottled at 43% ABV and are priced at $299 SGD (US$222).
