Our friends at Tanglin Gin Distillery have done it again - their core gins have snagged some serious bling at two major spirits competitions. Based in the lush Dempsey neighbourhood of Singapore (that's a former colonial-era spice plantation turned swanky lifestyle enclave), Tanglin Gin is a trailblazer in the Southeast Asian craft distillery scene.
Turns out, the judges at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC) love Tanglin's gins just as much as we do. Both their classics, the Singapore Gin and the punchy, navy-strength Black Powder Gin picked up the top "Double Gold" award – reserved for only bottles that get a unanimous top approval from the judging panel during the blind tasting.
And get this– Black Powder Gin has won Double Gold at this competition for five years on the trot. That makes it a "Triple Platinum" winner, one of the most awarded bottles ever – a major feather in Tanglin's cap!
Their delicately floral Orchid Gin also impressed, earning a score of 90 at the SFWSC.
Tanglin's winning streak doesn't end there. Over at The Spirits Business's Asian Spirits Masters 2024, its Triple Tangerine Mandarin Orange Liqueur nabbed a Gold in the 'Gin Made in Asia' category.
Clearly, Tanglin Gin is on a roll. If you want a taste of this award-winning spirit magic, the distillery is open to the public. Swing by their distillery in Dempsey for a tour and a cheeky tasting session. It's a great way to see how this proudly local brand is making a splash on the global spirits scene.
Kanpai!
