Two New White Rums From Habitation Velier For 2025: Savanna HERR & Mhoba Single Rums
The House of Single Rums appears to have two new white rums up their sleeves as they get ready for another year of surfacing rums selected from all around the world, and this time we've got two white rums that are big hitters with rum geeks, a Savanna HERR from Reunion Island and Mhoba from South Africa!
Let's take a closer look at them below!
Habitation Velier Savanna Reunion Single Rum HERR 2025
As with all Habitation Velier releases, this is 100% Pot Still distillation, made with molasses from the distillery (because Savanna too makes cane juice agricultural rums), and is distilled to achieve congeners of 499.9 gr/hlpa, and is bottled in 2025 at 62% ABV.
On the back we find the following:
From Réunion Island, this single rum is distilled in a double retort pot still.
The HERR mark specifically refers to rums with an esters content between 225-500 gr/hlpa at the time of distillation-the high esters expression from Savanna Distillery.
The last time we saw a white Savanna HERR expression from Habitation Velier was in 2018.
Habitation Velier Mhoba South Africa Single Rum 2025
This one's also of course 100% Pot Still distillation, distilled to 3,019.7 gr/hlpa of congeners, and is bottled in 2025 at 62% ABV.
On the back label:
This white rum, resulting from a 28-day fermentation, is composed of 30% dunder and 70% freshly pressed cane juice. The cane juice is extracted from the N49 variety, known for its naturally high sugar content. This expression is 100% pot-distilled in Mhoba's self-built stills. A world premiere.
We last saw a white Mhoba expression from Habitation Velier in 2024, although that expression appears to be a Whisky Live Paris exclusive.
Kanpai!
