This has always been my favourite top-shelf rum - the DiplomaticoAmbassador Selection. Grabbed myself a bottle fromProvidorein time for the festive season!
The Ambassador was first crafted in 2011 by Diplomatico’s Rum Master Tito Cordero, and has remained the ultimate expression of his life work for the past 24 years at Destilerias Unidas S.A. (DUSA). Bottled at cask strength of 47%, the rum is aged for the first 12 years in previously used bourbon oak casks, and the following two in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks.
On the palette, the rum is smooth and creamy, and very gentle. The notes are of warm vanilla, sweet tangerines, chocolates, raisins, a very light tobacco!
