Notes - Kuheiji Désir et Sauvage is dedicated for everyone to enjoy the five tastes through Japanese sake. This sake is the first to be created according to the new style of the house some 20 years ago. Delicate and refreshing in the mouth. Refreshing ginjo notes of 🍑 and citrusy 🍋. Medium acidity that lingers in the throat with slight tartness of grapefruit aftertaste.

This 🍶 was enjoyed over sushi omakase dinner at which consist of starters like monkfish liver, marinated tako, freshly sliced sashimi of tuna and uni, charcoal grilled fish, smoked kinmadai and of course 🍣. Being a medium umami 🍶, it does pair very well with the smoked kinmadai and starters as the umaminess elevates the smokiness of the dish as well as remove the fishy texture of the monkfish liver which otherwise could be a little too much for me. However, I find that it didn’t pair too well with the 🍣 as the sake kind of overpowered the taste of the 🍣. Nice bottle of sake nonetheless. Kuheiji 🍶 is also expanding its footprint regionally as I have been seeing more of this 🍶 in both Singapore and Malaysia. Recommended to drink chilled for best experience.

Overall, this is a good 🍶. 💫 💫 💫
