Notes - The Zaku Impression series was born out of a painstaking process of trial and error, to try and find a way to make a pasteurized sake which reproduces the characteristics aromas and flavors of a freshly pressed namazake. This bottle is the N Impression and “N” stands for Nakadori 中取(‘Miyabi no Tomo’). The bottle opened with a slight fizziness with the 🍶 trying to sip out. Delicate and soft on the tongue with massive loads of 🍊 fragrance enveloping the whole mouth. Smooth and sweet down the throat with a tinge of tartness. Slight sparkling sensation can be felt with every sip.
Food pairing was with 🇯🇵 Zensai 前菜 consisting of shimeiji 🍄 with wild vegetables and seasoned tako with sweet onions and 🫑. As both dishes are rich in flavor and at the same time serves very well as bar food, they really make very good combination with the delicate 🍶. The 🍶 also helps to reset the palate after every sip and clearing it up for more mouthful of the dishes.
Overall, this is an excellent 🍶 that can be enjoyed on its own and before I know it, I had emptied the whole bottle in 1 seating. 👏 👏 👏
