Bell's Blended Scotch Whisky, Original, 40% abv.
Bartender says the key malt is Cardhu. Online resources say there are also Blair Athol, Caol Ila, Glenkinchie, Dufftown, and Inchgower. Seems to be a punching bag for bad Scotch.
Nose: heavy, cereal, wheat, oats gone bad, coffee, hints of honey, hints of flowers.
Palate: its like lightly malt flavored water, back palate has a hint of wood smoke though, but other than that I don't get much. With time, the flavors become more malty and a little bit more temporary smoke throughout.
Finish: short, heavy oily coat, with time it has a finish more like Chinese tea.
Is this whisky? This reminds me of a stronger fake Sherriff's Bowmore I once had, but with less tea flavors. Not sure whats going on here. This was one of the bartender's favorite. Guess in 20 years I'll have a better preference for Bell's blended.
