Just In 👉 Four Roses Showcases Four of Ten Unique Whiskey R...

Whisky Reviews

Ben Nevis 19 Year Old, 1996-2016, Three Rivers Tokyo and The Auld Alliance, Sherry wood, 359 bottles, 50.2% abv.

Sort of heard this was sort of famous... sort of.

Nose: a slight tropical fruit presentation, sort of a salty vegetable soup, getting hints of soap as time goes by, but I guess its hard for me to differentiate between soap and perfume sometimes.

Palate: light body, smooth, a little complex, initial palate is simple syrup, hints of fruit juice with successive sips, mid palate shows more fruit, becomes quite sweet, a sort of peach/plum honey jam, back palate shows hints of perfume that get stronger in the mouth, peaches, smoked wood chips, something akin to smoke.

Finish: for some strange reason there is some abv numbness, like a light white pepper numbness, residual perfume.

Not bad, but wasn't extremely sweet as some people said. Its not too tropical but there are instances of it. The aromas and flavors are telling two different stories. A pretty good everyday sipper.
