Supposedly this is from the malt Ichiro Akuto brought back from Scotland on his first trip to study floor malting. The number of bottles peoduced seems to be a mystery, but general consensus is it's much less than the previous "floor malted" edition.
Nose: quite unique, green and yellow melons, very floral, some wood influence.
Palate: overall a toffee/caramel sweetness, also has that classic Chichubu vanilla/toast.
Finish: short, smoke, but everything disappears quickly.
Seems like a focused version of Chichibu aged in bourbon barrels. Quite nice in texture too.
Grade: B
