Glendronach 10, 2002-2012, Bourbon Barrel No. 833, 213/238, 56.9% abv.
A pretty unqiue offering as GD single casks are usually sherried.
Nose: very nice for a GD, a good amount of vanilla, chocolate, heavily scented soap, grape gummies, smoked leather.
Palate: smooth, has light fruits, initially vanilla, mid palate also has more vanilla, is sour with a type of black pepper spice developing, lychee cognac/jelly, back palate has fruit juice concentrate, purple fruits, red fruits.
Finish: aftermath of sucking on a fruit popsicle, vanilla, cedar, balsa, lychee cognac/jelly.
Wow, this was a totally unexpected GD. To be honest, I was expecting an expired sherry mess, but after the first sniff I re-read the label and found it to be a bourbon barrel. Haha, it's quite artificial fruit forward and with some sort of body, not unbalanced like typical GD single casks I've had.
Grade: B
