Damn, everyone is at the Chichibu whisky festival... and here I am reminiscing about drinks I had last year. Continuing from the last post, where east asia follows a race queen approach, the US, especially the western United States, follows more of a hot model approach. These models are usually darker skinned, asian in origin, and cater to the American crowd where skininess is not as welcome. Just check out old pics of Hot Import Nights to get a visual of what I'm talking about. However, I've heard nowadays things aren't as voluptuous as they used to be. There used to be all kinds of problems with young guys and hot models and the stories I've heard just makes it seem so wild wild west-like. Reminds me of Joy Luck Club when the daugther got tricked by a fake pearl.
Nose: plain coffee beans and fresh grinds, burnt toast, dark chocolate powder, light white grape juice.
Palate: initially wood, then back palate is wet old steamed lotus leaves. Back palate has some raisins with some body. Overall pretty tasty, although has some of those expired elements.
Finish: medium to long, warm, the warming aspects last a long time, bread like, a little sweet, boiled watered juice, major raisins.
This one is pretty good, Glentauchers continues to impress me. The nose was unique, the strong raisins on the back palate is also nice. That finish is a little unstable but enjoyable.
