Ichiro's Malt Card Series - Joker. The last card is a single malt from 14 casks filled in either 1985, 1986, 1988, 1990, 1991, or 2000, with cask types including sherry butt, puncheon, hogshead, ex-bourbon, ex-cognac, ex-madeira, and chibidaru (sounds like all the leftover casks from Hanyu). 3,690 bottles were released, which is quite alot for a collectors item and is about 7x more than each of the other cards. Had this at @sexyfishbar in London. Imagine that, an ABC working in South Korea is drinking the infamous Joker at a Japanese bar/restaurant in London... Nose: mellow sherry, spice.
Palate: smooth, light sour wood, hint of pepper spice, sort of complex and all over the flavor map.
Finish: short, dry, wood disappears, spice lasts.
Seriously impressive, diverse clean cut flavors. Seems more like a sherry butt? Nothing stands out, except a lingering numb-like spice in the finish. Heavy honey wood aroma in the dry glass.
