From my memory of the 90s, the car customization scene in Japan is similar to that in the States, with many suppliers coming from Japan throughout the ages. Many of these customizations are aesthetic in nature, but performance modifications are also available. I grew up calling these customized cars "souped up cars/sup-ed up cars", with the generation after me calling them "rice rockets"... which imo has it's origins in the non-asian community. I think it's become more PC nowadays though, more fast and furious.

Nose: peated, wood, very similar to a Lagavulin nose with less meat. After some time it became more sweet, white grape juice, with the smoke taking a back seat.

Palate: initialltly sweet, smoked fruit, but quickly transforms to toast/vanilla on the mid and back palate. Good body. Part of the back palate is smokey. Doesn't seem like a balanced attack.

Finish: medium, general sweetness.

This reminds me a little of a lesser Port Ellen, the nose is peaty smoke, some wood, but the taste is generally sweet, not a fruit type of sweet, but a honey type. Then that smokey backend lets me know its not that close to Port Ellen. The combination of honey sweetness and peat smoke is good, but a little unbalanaced in execution. Quite good though, better than the previous two Endless Advance bottles: Clynelish and Glenlossie.

Grade: B-
