Whisky Reviews

Longrow Red, 13 Years Old , Malbec cask (9,000 bottles)

Longrow Red 13, Malbec cask (9,000 bottles). Nose: spice and alcohol, wood notes. Palate: wood, spice comes at the end. Finish: moderately short, wood, sour notes, a little honey somewhere in there, alcohol spice at the end. Interesting wood oil aftertaste on the tongue. Not sure where the malbec and peat elements were. This was like a stronger version of the Hazelburn 13 flavorwise, "strangely similar". Beautiful liquid though. Supposedly also the hot thing in Japan now. Released in Korea last month (June).
