Mortlach 1989, 25 Year Old, Silver Seal

Older Mortlach from a legendary bottler.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Cantaloupe, acacia honey, papaya and maple syrup emerge with water

Palate: medium texture, cantaloupe, honeydew, honey, orange juice, drying oak spice, with water, some paprika, candied limes.

Finish: cantaloupe, flint, long finish of orange oil, lemon oil, golden raisins

Incredible. A 94. Cerebral and tasty in equal measure. Complex, full of depth but maybe just a little more evolution/variety in the notes is needed to lift it to an all-time great for me.
