Springbank 10, 46% abv.
Springbank is one of the few distilleries that performs the entire whisky production process on site. Springbank typically produces lightly peated malts. This "older" bottling is a vat of both bourbon and sherry matured malts.
Nose: honey, slight hint of wood, slight hint of grapes.
Palate: oak, light hints of that tobacco-ish, old steamed lotus leaves flavors.
Finish: slightly dry, short, nothing comes to the fore.
A light, relatively young whisky. I didn't get that peat or smoke. Nothing really going on. It's a good entry level sipper. Not sure why the major reviewers like this one, it's so peon level, waste of money... or maybe it doesn't do well with time... or maybe I drank the wrong bottle? Nice label design though. Not a fan of modern mass made malts nowadays. Had this at @wood_side_bar in Seomyeon, Busan.
