Springbank 12, distilled by J. & A. Mitchell & co. Ltd. Exclusive for Paradee 10th anniversary, Campbeltown Loch, and Shinanoya, Fresh Bourbon Cask #377, 234 bottles, 56.8% abv.
Bartender told me this was the last bottle of a special single cask. I am honored. There seem to be two versions of the bottling though, the one pictured above and one that is more modern with the black label and red fonts.
Nose: light purple grapes, honey, abv.
Palate: oily, short smoke, sharp raw tofu taste, I think that's wood but its very faint. Not smoky, but a pepper like spice that dissipates quickly.
Finish: short, pepper spice, numb.
A very interesting dram, never would have thought its a campbeltown bottling. The oiliness stands out and then a spicy woody raw tofu flavor which concludes with numbness. Not really my style, but the oiliness is unique. Had this at Bar Paradee, Yokohama, Japan.
