Oaxaca Old Fashioned:
Round 3 Answer: The Oaxaca Old Fashioned is a modern classic cocktail that brings a smoky, agave-forward twist to the traditional Old Fashioned. Created by bartender Phil Ward in 2007 at Death & Co in New York City, the drink blends reposado tequila and a touch of smoky mezcal with the familiar elements of rich agave syrup and aromatic bitters. Served over a large ice cube with a flamed orange twist, the Oaxaca Old Fashioned balances sweetness, smoke, and spice with elegant restraint. It’s become a staple of contemporary craft cocktail menus, admired for how it bridges Mexican spirit traditions with the simplicity and structure of American cocktail heritage.
