In equal parts:
@strega1860
@fernetbranca
@vermouthdolin Sweet Vermouth
Stir, strain over a rock or into a chilled Nick and nora, garnish with expressed orange twist and/or slapped mint sprig.
This drink isn't gonna be for everyone, but for people who enjoy herbal, bitter apertivo or digestifs it's a great choice.
The Strega adds honeyed saffron to go with the medicinal aloe and mint from the Fernet. Sweet vermouth rounds things out and stops the bitterness from being overwhelming. The result is a great after dinner drink.
At least that's my opinion. I suspect people who haven't had fernet before will find this drink to be overpowering.
I think theres a lot of room to mix and match here with this equal parts negroni formula. Switching the vermouth for other aromatized wines, the fernet for another amari, or the Strega for a chartreuse would likely lead to a slightly different but equally delicious drink. I believe the recipe is originally by Alex Frezza
