The Smoked Rose
Not sure why this drink is called smoked rose. There's no rose involved. Rosemary I guess. Oh well here goes.
- 2 oz Highland or Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky. (I'm using Macallan 12 year double cask)
- .5 oz Green Chartreuse
- .25 oz Rosemary syrup
Stir all over ice, light a sprig of Rosemary on fire and place under an inverted coup glass until glass is opaque. strain into smoked coup and garnish with a Rosemary sprig.
Continue to burn rosemary, wafting smoke towards your glass to get a satisfactory picture because you're obsessive. Drink the cocktail to calm down you nut.
This recipe is originally made with The Black Grouse, a blended scotch with a smokier profile. The only scotch I currently have is the Macallan but tbh I'm not upset about that. Its a fantastic scotch and really works well in this drink. Still if you're looking for a more smokey experience try it with The Black Grouse scotch.
