Audioslave. American rock supergroup formed in Glendale, California in 2001. The four-piece band consisted of Soundgarden's lead singer and rhythm guitarist Chris Cornell with Rage Against the Machine members Tom Morello, Tim Commerford, and Brad Wilk.
Cornell readily agreed to an initial try-out session, during which the new band wrote “Light My Way,” one of the key tracks from what would become the Audioslave debut album.
“He stepped to the microphone and sang the song and I couldn’t believe it,” guitarist Tom Morello told Rolling Stone. “It didn’t just sound good, it sounded transcendent. When there is an irreplaceable chemistry from the first moment, you can’t deny it.”
Galvanized by their initial session, the newly-christened Audioslave wrote over 20 songs during three weeks of intensive rehearsals, meaning they could enter the studio to begin recording with Rick Rubin during the summer of 2001. That was the birth of the classic album we know today, Audioslave self titled.

We should crush a beer to this one, what better than The Sprocket! It is described by the brewery as the Crankshaft Orange IPA's younger sister, which seems relevant given its my sister's birthday. While there is a ligitimate argument that it is younger given it was first brewed later.
Explosions of tropical and citrus aromas in every direction then follows them up with more of those delicious tropical and grapefruit flavours, all the while balancing them with malt that does little more than allow the hops to take centre stage before finishing up beautifully dry.
