The next pick is an album from a UK folk rock outfit, whose track “Little Lion Man” was voted the best track of 2009 by @triple_j listeners in the #hottest100.
The band who created this little gem is @mumfordandsons and the album is Sigh No More, which takes its name from taken from a line in Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing, where Balthasar sings “Sigh no more, ladies, sigh no more, Men were deceivers ever, One foot in sea and one on shore, To one thing constant never”
The album has been described as an album that transfixes, and @marcusmumford ‘s wearied vocals keep the mood honest and his vocals on “After the Storm” have been described as having a gentle beauty. The sound has of the band has been brilliantly captured in this album. No surprise really considering they worked with producer Markus Dravs; who has produced amazing albums such “Post” By @bjork, “Viva La Vida” by @coldplay, ”How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful” by @florenceandthemachine
The album became popular, although its popularity took a while to happen. The album took six months to reach Number 1 in Ireland and Number 2 in the U.K. The Album reached Number One in three countries, and made the Top Five in another five countries.
The album was short listed for the Mercury Prize, an annual music prize awarded for the best album released in the United Kingdom by a British or Irish act. The album also won Album of the Year at the 2011 Brit Awards.
The album is a beauty and so is the beer that we’ve got to go with it. Our friend of the page @pintsofperriman and the crew he is part of from @bigshedbeer keep delivering, and their Frankenbrown is a perfect brew for this album.
It’s big, bold and brown with tasty roasted malts, a really smooth malty little number with amazing coffee notes. The aroma from a hit of hops during the boil and during dry-hopping is brilliant too. American Brown Ale’s are a hit for us and this one is top notch.
