The next pick is a genre (if you can call it that) that is absolutely amazing and not done enough in our opinion. The “genre” is the crossover album and this crossover is the brilliant combination of hard rock/metal and electronic music.
The album is the soundtrack for the album “Spawn”; a 1997 American superhero film based on the Image Comics character of the same name. The film depicts the origin story of the title character, a murdered US Marine who is resurrected as the reluctant leader of Hell's army. Spawn is one of the first films to feature an African American actor portraying a major comic book superhero.
The music, like we said off the top is the perfect moulding of hard rock/metal and electronic music; and featured the most amazing artist combinations, with Metallica teaming up with DJ Spooky for a mind blowing recreation of “For Whom The Bell Tolls”. This wasn’t the only combination that blew peoples minds; with Korn and The Dust Brothers, The Prodigy and Rage Against the Machine Guitarist Tom Morello; as well Incubus and DJ Greyboy creating the most amazing musical combinations. And let’s not forget how The Crystal Method and Filter fired this album and the movie into life in the most perfect way with the track (Can't You) Trip Like I Do"; which takes the instrumental track into new level with lyrics written by and performed by Filter front man Richard Patrick.
Now for the beer, and the brew has to be one that crosses over into something brilliant. The Imperial Milk Stout from Blackman’s Brewery, has layers and layers of roasty flavours and chocolate goodness. This brew has big thinking and massive flavours, and the team at Blackman’s have created the best rich lactose filled brew that will keep flowing perfectly with the massive tunes on this album.
