Blood Orange IPA
From the can design, it's quite obvious that this is brewed specially for Halloween. This ale fits the theme quite well due to the thick hazy reddish brown body that made it look like blood. I would imagine the main contributing ingredient for the redness probably came from the blood orange juice which was added as part of the brew.
Aromatics wise, it's mostly piney, resinous with a little citrus.
At colder temps, the first few sips were sweet and a little bitter. But as the temperature rise just a little, taste of blood orange /grapefruits became dominant along with the citrusness, and elevated bitterness. What's surprising is that the combination of the fruit and hops did not result in an overwhelming bitterness throughout the tasting experience.
There's a lingering bitterness that matches that of the blood orange fruit. As I'm not a fan of this fruit, this beer didn't turn out as satisfying to me as it should be. 😁
