City of Gold
For my 100th post, wanted to dedicate this to the winner of the inaugural brew king competition held in Singapore. In the competition, the brewers were asked to showcase El Dorado hops which from what I read has a very high aroma profile for tropical and stone fruits.
This lager poured with a Hazy dark orangey body. Smells of pineapple and grapefruit. Mouthfeel was quite juicy and a little creamy. It has a lasting grapefruit kind of bitter aftertaste.

Here's the opinion why I think it was a winner. The name itself was quite apt. It was moderately high carbonated with what I think was yeast particles that seem like gold flakes moving about in brownian motion. Aesthetically speaking, this I feel takes the cake. Finally, the head retention was amazing, from the initial pour to the final drop, the foam retained its volume throughout; maintaining quite a level of consistency in the mouthfeel so much so that I think the Japanese will approve of this. π
