Dainton Amplifier x Nirvana - In Bloom

Not that we needed reminding, but watching the Post Malone tribute to Nirvana had us going back for listen number …; well we honestly have no idea how many times we’ve played this absolute classic.

The album, quite obviously is the second release from the band. “Nevermind”. Recorded at the iconic Sound City Studios; the album is a more polished sound than their previous material, and is considered to be a departure from the previous sound. According to frontman Kurt Cobain, the songs of Nevermind were influenced by bands such as the Pixies, R.E.M., the Smithereens, and the Melvins. The album is really a great fusion of mainstream pop and hard rock and there are influences in the album from artists as diverse as The Knack and Black Sabbath.

The album came along at a time when there was shift in music, and in some ways it felt like a musical revolution. In October last year, Garbage’s Butch Vig – who produced Nevermind – pondered that the album might not have been as successful were it released in the modern day. There are so many colossal, ground breaking music moment on this album and there won’t be many arguments from people that Lounge Act has the best bass line in Grunge Music.

Honestly, we could go on and on forever about how great this album, and we’d never fully cover all the things we love about this classic rock album. With this year being 30 years since the album was released, Krist Novoselic hinted at an anniversary re-release, which will be exciting for sure.

So the beer had to be something epic, and our friends from Dainton Brewery have delivered exactly what we needed, with the @gabsfestival favourite “Amplifier”. This beers hits us with all the best stuff; with an absolute load of Citra, Mosaic Sabro and Strata hops. This brew has a really a rich and creamy base, with a rocking party of citrus, guava, and banana flavours. Kurt, Krist and Dave make a perfect combo of musicians; and this brew has is a perfect combo. Pump this album up loud, and you’ll be sure this beer is be pumping loud too.
