Tl;dr wonderfully complex pale ale, but watch out for the wheaty finish.

There’s a Simpsons-meets-Hansel-and-Gretel vibe to this beer label. I’m mainly here for the cat on the couch🐈

Pours surprisingly clear with a pillowy white head that settles down into a thin, lasting layer. Think Hoegaarden’s pale and hazy straw. Lively carbonation. I’m looking at the glass an hour after I took the photo and started drinking (busy with domestic responsibilities) and there’s still a steady stream of bubbles rising from the base of the glass.

Drink this beer slow or drink it fast, and you’re in for a treat regardless. Initial impression recalls Verdant’s Quiet Charge but with a heftier hop bitterness in the finish. There’s also a farty note like LHG Brewpub’s Hazy Pale, which I’ve reviewed previously.

Left to warm up, it really comes into its own. The lemony citrus from Mosaic, especially, becomes a lot clearer alongside the more prominent Citra notes. The finish reminds me of Overtone’s Vicky’s Pet Unicorn’s bubblegum-like flavour.

The ONLY knock against this beer is the amount of wheat in the finish, but this is just something I’m sensitive to and lack tolerance for. It just makes my tongue feel bleh.
