Gravedigger's Biscuits (Bourbon Barrel Aged) by Turning Point Brew Co.

TURNING POINT BREW CO. GRAVEDIGGER'S BISCUIT (BOURBON BARREL AGED)
Style: Barrel Aged Imperial Coffee Stout
By Turning Point Brew Co., Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
ABV: 9%
My rating: 4/5

A coffee and vanilla stout, barrel aged in Bourbon barrels for 12 months, received as a gift from a friend (thanks Ben!) returning from the UK that looks very fit, the beer, not him.

Massive coffee on the nose, malty, biscuity, burnt sugar, vanilla and molasses.
Black pour, beige head, creamy at first but with moderate retention and no laces.
Moderate bitterness, dry, low sweetness, a lot of coffee, dark chocolate on waffles, vanilla, molasses, some bourbon (subtle). Lingering dark maltness, chocolate and herbal hops that suggest an Espresso Martini effect.

Medium body and moderate carbonation, easy to drink, booze well hidden.

A very interesting brew that evolves sip after sip.
