Beer Reviews

Hanalei Island IPA, Kona Brewing, 4.5% ABV

Another one sponsored by my friend @50plusandflying before going back to reviewing local beers!

This IPA opened with a burst of fruit aroma! Not surprising as three different fruits were added. The passion fruit smell was the most distinct one of all.
It's lightly carbonated and the mouthfeel is slightly more viscous. The bitterness is a little blend of what's coming from the guava and orange, making it taste a little like grapefruit.

This is one of the beers that you have to wait for it...... (hopefully you peeps out there still remember himym). As the temperature rose a little higher, the magic happens and the beer went from IPA bitterness to more of a lingering fruit juice aftertaste.
