Hennessy's New Travel Exclusive Decanters Take Flight: Singapore, Hong Kong, Taipei, Macau & Hainan

Pioneering Cognac house Maison Hennessy is out with a new destination-exclusive travel retail collection up for grabs now.

Known for its long legacy of over 250 years, and for being the first Cognac house to introduce the ‘X.O’ (Extra Old) classification, Hennessy has consistently rubbed shoulders with cultural heavyweights; think collaborations with Ridley Scott, contemporary sculptor Kaws, and fashion designers like Kim Jones.

Their latest series from the travel retail side of Moët Hennessy is the Hennessy X.O Spirit of Travel Collection. It’s a special series of limited-edition decanters you'll only find while travelling, designed as a nod to both the brand's legacy and that feeling of setting off to explore somewhere new.

The whole idea is to pay tribute to the landmarks, cultural vibes, and artistic importance of several well-known travel spots. Each major city – including Hainan (China), Hong Kong, Macau, Taipei and Singapore – would get its own uniquely designed X.O decanter, plus a rather neat bespoke leather luggage tag that's embossed with architectural bits specific to that place.

The Hainan edition, for instance, is all about the island's impressive modern skyline, and its tag takes cues from those tall skyscrapers. Pop over to Singapore, and the edition reflects the city's famous waterfront, with the luggage tag design influenced by the Esplanade Theatres – you know, the distinctive 'durian' shaped buildings that are a real symbol of Singapore's arts scene. The Hong Kong version captures its iconic skyline, specifically drawing inspiration from the sharp geometry of the Bank of China Tower. Macau’s edition aims to show the city’s mix of old and new, referencing the dramatic, almost futuristic lines of the Morpheus Tower designed by the Pritzker Prize-winning architect Zaha Hadid. Lastly, the Taipei edition is inspired by the smooth, twisting form of the Tao Zhu Yin Yuan towers, noted for its distinctive twisting architecture.

Hennessy's recently-opened boutique in Hainan's Sanya International Airport.

In keeping with current sensibilities, each decanter comes housed in a protective case that’s fully recyclable and made entirely from paper pulp. A detachable leather luggage tag allows you to personalise your bottle or even attach it to your actual travel bags. And to round it off, each destination comes with its own bespoke tote bag too.

While the decanters are special editions, the Cognac inside is the classic Hennessy X.O blend that fans know and recognise.

The collection is currently available across airports in Singapore, Hainan, Macau, Hong Kong and Taipei. But here’s the catch for collectors – each specific destination-themed decanter is only sold in its namesake location. So, if you fancy the Singapore edition, you'll need to be passing through Changi Airport, and likewise for the others in their respective cities. Quite the souvenir hunt for dedicated Hennessy fans on their travels!
