I jumped at this one because of the contributions of Full Circle Brew Co, one of my favourite contemporary English breweries. (And distributed by Quality Drops Beer; check ‘em out)
Happiness is a pretty good session IPA: it’s got the hop aroma and flavour that everybody likes, while the addition of oats, wheat and dextrin malt keeps the mouthfeel full. It pours an impressively murky — almost opaque — yellow that goes well with the can label.
Overall, a good first experience with Northern Monk for a style that I don’t typically reach for. My other purchase from Temple is completely on the other end of the spectrum: an imperial stout. I’m very much looking forward to opening that next!
