Hargreaves Hill Fruitopia #3 x System Of A Down – Toxicity

I BELIEVE YOU TRUST IN MY SELF RIGHTEOUS IMPERIAL SOUR

The next pick is the second album from @systemofadown , “Toxicity”. This album is a beautiful expansion on their debut, featuring elements of multiple genres including folk, progressive rock, jazz, Armenian music and Greek music, including prominent use of instruments such as the sitar, banjo, keyboards, and piano.

Promotion of the album caused a bit of controversy. A six-hour riot ensued at a free concert in Hollywood the day before the album's release as a result of the show's cancellation because the crowd was least twice the size which was expected. Another scheduled System of a Down performance was cancelled to prevent a similar riot.

The album topped the charts in the US and Canada, made the top ten in another five countries, and sold over five million copies. The track “Chop Suey!” made #3 on the 2001 @triple_j #hottest100, and 3 songs (Toxicity, Aerials and Innervision) made the 2002 #hottest100.

Now for the beer. A powerful, funky and unique album like this needs a beer that is all of these things and more. Our friends from @hargreaveshill have delivered this perfectly, with the Imperial Sour Ale “Fruitopia #3”. The sweet malt body and balanced sourness is really perfect and the hit of Apricot & Peaches gives this brew all the power and funkiness needed to ride along with power packed album.
