Holgate Brewhouse Millennium Falcon x Guns N Roses - November Rain

This Singles Session is brought to you by the epic Guns N Roses track “November Rain”; and the epic Imperial IPA “Millennium Falcon” from Holgate Brewhouse.

The song was written in 1986 during the Sound City sessions, where the band laid down songs for “Appetite for Destruction”. The recording at Sound City was a 10 minute demo with just piano and vocals from Axl Rose; which laid out the basic framework of the song. The final version of the song for “Use Your Illusion I”; with the bands part of the song, including an amazing solo at around the 7 minute mark of the song from @slash, impassioned lyrics from Axl and a full string arrangement which Axl Rose orchestrated.

This song, as well as “Don’t Cry” and “Estranged” are all based on the short story “Without You” written by Del James. The film clip starred the band as well as Axl Rose’s girlfriend at the time, Stephanie Seymour. This film clip tells a tragic love story, with Axl’s love in the story passing away after their wedding; possibly from an illness she hid from everyone. This song also sets up the final part of the song trilogy, the tragic “Estranged”; which has a real loneliness and a real sadness about it.

Now for the epic beer that can soar along this amazing track.  The 2021 version of “Millennium Falcon” has a slightly lower ABV, but loses none of the power of past versions of this brew. The fruity aroma of the beer has juicy pineapple, tart citrus, stone fruit, boiled lollies and bubblegum. The beer also has a really nice bitterness. It really does power along like an amazing @slash guitar solo.
