The next album pick we have is a really gem, from a band that is an absolute favourite around here.
 
The band is @toolmusic, the album is their fourth studio album “10,000 Days”. The concept of 10,000 days and the philosophical notion of the Saturn Return, which is nearly 29.5 years has meaning for Maynard James Keenan. Keenan has been quoted to say “That’s the time in your 28th/29th year when you are presented the opportunity to transform from whatever your hang-ups were before to let the light of knowledge and experience lighten your load, so to speak, and let go of old patterns and embrace a new life.”
 
The album was released In April 2006, over 5 years after their previous release “Lateralus”. Keenan expected that the songs composed would for the album would "chronicle that process, hoping that my gift back would be to share that path and hope that I could help somebody get past that spot (referring to the 29 years that many musicians such as Janis Joplin and Kurt Cobain”
 
The album is full of brilliant tunes, and there are absolute highlights, not just album highlights but highlights of the band’s back catalogue and highlights of the progressive metal scene. The tracks “The Pot” and “Right in Two” are right up there as some of the best tracks the band have ever made. This is saying a lot considering the absolute masterpieces that have been created by @tool.
 
Now for the beer, and this brew from a brewery that we love and a beer that is an classic, that is perfection coming into the cooler months; which Australia is going into now. The brewery is @holgatebeer and the brew is the perfectly crafted “Temptress”, a Porter with brilliant additions of rich cocoa and whole vanilla beans. This beer is an absolute classic beer from a pioneering brewery who started out in the late 1990’s. As good as this brew is, its even better when served with a hand pump.
