CELTIC AMERICAN PUNK, UNDERCOVER MOLES AND A HUGE HOP NATION BREW.
The next pick is from the mind of William Monahan, and the brilliant director Martin Scorsese. The remake of the 2002 Hong Kong film “Internal Affairs” delivered the amazing film “The Departed”, where the cops and the Irish infiltrated each other. Set in Boston, the movie follows Irish Mob boss Francis "Frank" Costello (played by Jack Nicholson) who plants Colin Sullivan (Matt Damon) as a mole within the Massachusetts State Police. At the same the police assign undercover state trooper William "Billy" Costigan (Leonardo DiCaprio) to infiltrate Costello's crew. When both sides realize the situation, Sullivan and Costigan each attempt to discover the other's identity before they are found out.
The album is the amazing powerful and huge sounding “The Warrior’s Code” from the @dropkickmurphys. The album, the bands fifth studio release contains the story of a correspondence between American Sgt. Andrew Farrar and his family before his death in the current Iraq War (Last Letter Home), and includes come from unpublished Woody Guthrie lyrics, consisting of a short rant by a sailor looking for a wooden leg in Boston in the track “I'm Shipping Up to Boston” This track became a brilliant feature of “The Departed”
The album is a brilliant mix of Celtic and American Punk, so a huge sound like this needs a huge brew to go with it. Once again, our friends from @hopnationbeer have delivered the brew perfect for a huge movie and the huge sounding album. The brew is the “J-Juice NEIPA”, which has a perfect use of Riwaka, Nelson Sauvin, Citra and Mosaic hops to create a brilliantly intense flavour. This beer is a brew that doesn’t need to hide it’s identity, or sniff out the identity of other brews; it’s just an amazing beer that we keep coming back for.
