Lemon Ale, for White Night | Nishijin Beer
Session Wheat Ale | ABV 3.5%
Got chased to clear my beer inventory at home by my mum, so we will! Craving wok hey today, so my father whipped up servings of rich A5 & A4 wagyu beef char kway teow for dinner. Oh so sinful.
Pours a muted gold colour, definitely a thirst-quencher and palate cleanser for this extremely rich, buttery and deep in umami dish. Subtle bready nose sweet and floral lightness, but taste profile's rather subdued despite the aromas. Lil cloudy and dull..maybe because of how light it is? Definitely a beer to gulp down in this heat, or a beer-break in between an indulgent dinner!
His unfiltered review:
"A little bit dull, lack of character for a wheat beer, very light, it's more of a rice lager than a wheat ale. Plain Jane ah this one. Like your cucumber beer, I forgot the name of that sour (ok he's referring to Garage Project's Pickle beer, excuse me!)"
We feel like this beer will pair well with steamed or boiled seafood, perhaps nothing spicy because the beer will lose its character even more.
